Scratchboard, also known as scraperboard, is a form of direct engraving where ink is scratched off to reveal a white layer of clay beneath. I also use a white clay-coated board, add ink to the surface, and then scratch away with a variety of tools. Sometimes I also use an airbrush to add some ink.
